A database of US state policies to mitigate COVID-19 and its economic consequences
This paper introduces the COVID-19 US State Policy (CUSP) Database, a continuously updated repository of policies, as well as highlights how the research conducted using the database has impacted policy decisions. The COVID-19 US State Policy Database facilitated more than 160 rapid response policy publications during the first years of the pandemic. Continuing to evaluate how policies affected the spread of COVID-19 and economic hardship during the early period of the pandemic can help inform a response that jointly maximizes health and economic well-being in the continuing pandemic and in future crises.
