Policies, laws, and other system and community levers play a critical role in improving population health, well-being, and equity—even when they stem from sectors outside health and health care.
The Policies for Action 2017 call for proposals will help fund research on public- and private-sector policies and laws related to health care and mental health, public health, education, the workforce, housing, criminal justice, community planning and transportation, energy and the environment, technology, and other topics.
Approximately $2 million will be awarded, including $500,000 dedicated to research that explores the implementation and/or impact of actionable policies relevant to early childhood or the school environment (prekindergarten through 12th grade) that support children’s healthy weight or reduce childhood obesity. Brief proposals will be accepted through Friday, March 10, 2017.
Policies for Action invites interested researchers to attend a free informational webinar on Wednesday, February 15, from 10:00–11:30 p.m. PT.
Help Policies for Action understand how policies, laws, and other levers can help build a Culture of Health.
