Ways of Knowing Symposia Gallery Walk

At both the Transforming Community-Led Health Research and Challenging the Norm: Redefining Rigor in Health Research symposia, participants engaged in a level-setting gallery walk. The purpose of the activity was to acknowledge and appreciate the diverse ways people define specific terms in their own context (e.g., community, rigor, anti-racist, anti-colonial research). Rather than seeking consensus on definitions, we recognized that we were entering a space with both shared and differing understandings of these concepts. Our intent was to focus on where there is overlap in the way we define these terms. This exercise was intended to expand our own perspectives / ways of knowing.
