Most Gun Owners Favor Gun Violence Prevention Policies
Findings from the National Lawful Use of Guns Survey challenge the way gun owners are portrayed both by the media and in policy discussions. As the evidence shows, most gun owners are in favor of many gun violence prevention policies, such as background checks, permit requirements, and prohibitions for individuals with domestic violence restraining orders. However, gun owners do not always feel comfortable showing public support.
